Roof Cleaning
In the fullness of time roof tiles are colonised by moss, lichen, foliose and a host of other species and Bio-film. It is deleterious to the material and appears poorly maintained. The mix of species is called “biofilm”.
We offer roof cleaning using the soft wash approach and do not use pressure as this can damage the roof and be very messy. We are an approved Algoclear contractor for roof cleaning.
AlgoClear® Pro Softclean is a non-aggressive high purity biocide suitable for cleaning roofs, walls & render. Specialised equipment is utilised to deliver it effectively and safely on the material to be cleaned. It has been adapted to suit weather conditions prevailing in the British Isles and Ireland.
After the roof cleaning treatment, the dead biofilm slowly disperses revealing the original appearance of the tiles. The self cleansing can take between a few weeks and a few months depending on the exposure and porosity of the roofing material.
The biocide then remains on the surface for a further 2 years and prevents moss growing over that period.
If the roof is very heavily soiled we will scrape the majority off prior to applying the biocide.
